Nestled between Hilton Head Islands' Palmetto Dunes & Shipyard Plantation is an amazing beachfront residential community. Leamington, a 460 acre sub-section of Palmetto Dunes, boasts 310 homes and 60 oceanfront condos, yet does not permit vacation rentals. This community offers nothing but the greatest amenities; a world-class, 11-mile canal system (fish included), a new oceanfront beach club house, award winning Arthur Hills Golf Course, Recreation Center w/ heated pool & dock, a historic lighthouse, and private gate access to 278.
A day in the life of a Leamington homeowner:
8:00am- Roll out of bed to enjoy breakfast and coffee while you overlook the beauty of the canal system. Birds are chirping as they fly over the water, looking for breakfast of their own.
8:20 am- Morning stroll around the neighborhood to get the blood flowing, with or without the pup.
9:00 am- Relax at the community pool, or your own private pool.
11:00 am- After a swim, it's time to pack some lunch, hop on your golf cart (allowed throughout Leamington), and head to the beach house.
11:05 am- On your short ride to the beach, you decide to make a quick stop at the Leamington Lighthouse, one of the most historic structures on Hilton Head Island. Originally built in 1879, it has a few interesting myths attached to it. Click here to read the entire history.
11:20- You pull up to the beach club and park your cart feet from the sand. It's time to soak up that sun on the best beach in South Carolina.
3pm- You've gotten enough sun on the beach and have an urge to play some golf. Time to head back to the house for a wardrobe change.
3:30pm- Back on the golf cart, this time headed to Arthur Hills Golf Course. This award winning course is also within the gates of the Leamington community.
4:00pm- Tee off. Using your own golf cart to make your way around the course.
6:00 pm- Collect the $40 you won from your "not a golfer" friend who decided to tag along.
6:30 pm- After a quick shower, its dinner time. You fire up some steaks on the grill.
7:15 pm- There's still enough daylight for a little fishing. You load up your skiff (fishing boat) with rods & bait, and within seconds, you're in some of the best fishing waters around. The 11-mile canal system is truly one of a kind; stunning and picturesque, it has a flush gate to the Intercoastal Water Way. This creates brackish water which allows a variety of gamefish to call this waterway home. Species include redfish, sea-trout, black drum, tarpon, flounder etc.
8:30 pm- After catching & releasing a few, you head back to share your fish-tales with the family.
10pm- Bedtime. You lay back at your action-packed day, reassured of your decision to live the ultimate Lowcountry lifestyle.
This would be quite a jam-packed day, but it illustrates all of the unique activities and amenities that come along with being a resident of beautiful Leamington.
